Thanks CHIZZLER new Member now

Thanks to Danny, I am the owner of his 1966 fauxtina GMC pickup. He was a great guy to deal with. Just arrived to NY from Oregon and I have not yet seen it. My brother tells me it is wicked.

Looking forward to using it, learning from the Board and customizing it some more. A pro-touring and musclecar guy has come over to the world of pickups for the first time. Please bear with me for silly questions and ideas.

Thanks,

Brad

Re: Thanks CHIZZLER new Member now

Welcome. Nice looking truck there. Not often to find a 60 hood on the 64-66 body style. The hood ornamnet is rare. Less than 2000 made from my literature/research. Nice looking truck and great find. We need more pics. What engine/trans in it now?

Re: Thanks CHIZZLER new Member now

All credit for hood, truck and of course ornament goes to Chizzler!!

350/350 combo. Bagged no c-notch (yet).

Major Plans call for doing interior over and maybe engine bay. Want the old look with new interior styling. Lots of ideas and young daughters to add their .02. Name: GMC 012.jpg

Now that I know how to add pictures, this is some other stuff that has kept me away from the world of pickups up until now. So excited to have a vehicle that doesn't need cleaning!!

Hey Brad, Welcome to the forum! I have seen Chizzlers truck in person and it is very sweet. The bed came out perfect and you can't tell it was ever a long bed. Glad to see it is going to another forum member!

Re: Thanks CHIZZLER new Member now

yep, i remember this truck...if i'm not mistaken, he used the TRUCKS! tv show fauxtina process to paint the truck...glad to see it's in the hands of another member; and by the looks of your previous rides, i'd say it's in good hands .....welcome aboard, & good luck with it! and keep us posted on any progress

Re: Thanks CHIZZLER new Member now

Yup that is how he painted it, literally with a beer and cigarette in one hand. Drove it yesterday for first time. Of course went on highway and bumper to bumper trafic but all was great.

Stewing on some ideas for wheels, interior and so forth. Bought some early 70's GMC hubcaps at swap meet so may try to figure out how to mount them on wheels after I powder coat them--I have seen Delmo's ride and wonder how he did it.

Re: Thanks CHIZZLER new Member now

Sweet truck! I just finished gathering my set of dodge steelies for my project. What size tires are you running? Any clearance issues? Did Chizzler have to modify the rear wheel wells? Thought you might like to see you truck photo shopped laying frame. It would be awesome with a full porterbuilt kit. Also here's a couple pics of another hub cap idea.

Nice job on the truck....have you seen the spyder/spider style centers? I think they'd look great on those rims.

That '40 looks sweet! You really know how to build 'em.
Any advice for putting dodge 20's on my '65? Suggestions on tire size?
