How do I identify my trans

My tran has an oil pan with a 45 degree notch out of one corner. Is this enough information to be able to identify it. 350 motor 4x4. What a out the transfer case, how would I be able to identify that?

You have a th350, if it only has a 45 degree notch in one corner. As for the transfer case, there should be an I.D. tag on it. You might have to clean off the grime. I'm guessing it's either a np203 or np208, what year is the truck? Do you have full time 4x4 or part time 4x4?

Re: How do I identify my trans

Looking at the pictures it's defiantly a th350, now I just have to figure out what the transfer case is. Unfortunately I think I have a 84 body on a 70 something fram, so going by the year number dosent really help.

there should be a tag like this on the transfer case if it's a 203 or 208, where it says 203 it'll say 208 depending on the model.

or one like this if its a 205
