Hood gap issues
I took the hood off an 87 Burb for my 85 K10, the side and rear gaps all line up fine, but the front is off. It looks like the hood is always popped, it's higher than the front of the fenders and theres a small gap between the grill and hood. I removed washers from under the hood latch on the core support and dropped the catch down as far as it'll go, it's better but still looks popped. Any suggestions? The previous hood did not do that.

Re: Hood gap issues
There are two rubber hood stops on each side of the radiator support. They may need to be adjusted down.

They're both down, when I push on one side of he hold the other comes up, like it's balancing on the striker in the middle.

The striker on the hood is not bent by chance?
You can always try to massage the latch plate down a little more with a BFH.

Re: Hood gap issues
Did you have the fenders off at the same time you replaced the hood? Bringing the fenders up will not help the gap between the hood and support. If all you did was swap hoods and your other hood fit better, I would not go messing with the fenders just yet.

No, I just swapped hoods didn't touch the fenders.

Re: Hood gap issues
I ran into the same problem with my cowl hood. I took the latch mechanism off and elongated the holes and got the hood all the way down to the grille support. I don't know if this was the right method but it worked. Mine is still far from perfect but at least it's better.

Re: Hood gap issues
Look at both hoods and see if there is any difference in the position of the latch piece. My latch mech is as far down as it can go without grinding some off the mechanism itself. Yours look way off for some reason. have you removed the latch mech and then closed the hood to see if it goes all the way down?

Re: Hood gap issues
Maybe the hoods are different from the Burb to the K10.
