Help with exhaust manifolds

Anyone using stock manifolds with a 5.3 in original AD frame? Have a 5.3 out of an avalnche but the manifolds are to wide. Trying to stay away from headers. Any ideas?

Re: Help with exhaust manifolds

look around the section a bit, it comes down to a handful of options. Truck manifolds won't fit, some have squeezed the early f-body headers in, TBSS manifolds fit almost anything, 2010+ ls3 manifolds are similar and work depending on your motor position, doug thorley swap headers work but you don't want headers.

Trailblazer SS are a good option for most. I just so happen to have a set for sale...

Re: Help with exhaust manifolds

TBSS manifolds are tucked in more then the ones you have. 04/05 GTO manifolds look to be tucked into the motor better AND only use two studs to the collector is more narrow then the truck tsyle with three studs. The late model Camaro manifolds are also an option. I will try and get all the GM part numbers together....

I believe these are the Camaro part numbers: 12611640 and 12611641... you can see them in this post HERE

Re: Help with exhaust manifolds

Corvette manifolds look and work alot like a 4 into one block hugger. They are stainless instead of cast. Worked out great for me.

If those are stainless, they are off the Z06 Corvette with the LS6 motor. I would guess 2001-2004 because they changed the design in 2005... They are probably a little harder to find...

Do you have any casting numbers or part numbers?

Re: Help with exhaust manifolds

These are 97-99 vette. The Y2K cars went to a cast iron manifold with a heat shield. After 05 I'm not even sure what they came with. I got these on ebay for $75 years ago and there's a pair on there right now for $89.50

I hope that helps.
