Factory Steering Gear with Aftermarket Column
I have finally found a Right Hand Drive Factory Steering Box for my 49 4400, But I'm hoping to use an aftermarket steering column with this original steering gear. Is there a way to do this? If so is there any pictures of it done?
Also will the rebuild kit for the steering gear be the same for the big and small trucks?? The Photos of the steering gear are attached. Thanks once again for the wealth of knowledge Shane

Re: Factory Steering Gear with Aftermarket Column
I dont recall anyone doing it, but it would not be impossible. Just like puting removing the box to use the column but the bearing would go in the bottom. Google "column saver" and links will show up. In the US guys have found that a late model Toyota or GM PS boxs will mount in the stock location and operate the same. I assume you have right hand drive GM and Toyota SUV/trucks down there, you might look and see if that will work. I don't links, just remember wishing they had been available when I did my set up.
