Re: 1981 SILVERADO 4X4 4spd shortbox
Bumper/grille says it's an 81/82. Pretty sure those years the SPID had moved tot he glove box vs being on the left wheel apron under the hood.
You could order those trucks with every unique option you can think of. A factory 4 speed truck is not uncommon at all really. It is a slick looking truck though!

Re: 1981 SILVERADO 4X4 4spd shortbox
Was thinking of maybe picking it up if its rarer...it has the tach and gauge package...and tilt steering.....no air conditioning though....needs work but not too much....stock steering wheel needs to go back on....it has a 350 in it...fully rebuilt...thought they came with the 305....another project perhaps.. always liked this style...Thanks

The 4x4's you could get a 350 factory, not the 2 wheel drives though. The tach dash is fairly rare in the 81 up squares.

I would say what makes this truck rare is a factory tach and the 4sp manual with the Silverado option in a swb. You see lots of 4sp in custom deluxes, scottsdales in 1/2 ton longbeds and 3/4tons.

There are no rare squares.
Good lookin' truck, though. K
