1950 1 ton fenders on a 1/2 ton truck
my friend bought a 1950 cab and it came with really nice one ton front fenders and grill. does anyone have pictures of a 1/2 ton truck with one ton fenders.i know there are a few differences between the two like the back of the hood and the wheel opening on the front fenders are a little bit bigger in the one ton. does anyone have any pic or would it look totally stupid.

Re: 1950 1 ton fenders on a 1/2 ton truck
As far as I know one ton fenders and hood are the same. The one tons even use the same front bumper as the half and 3/4 tons while the one and a half ton and up are different.
Measure the wheel well opening and if they are the same you are good to go. The truck is a 1-1/2 ton while the brown fender is half ton. |

Re: 1950 1 ton fenders on a 1/2 ton truck
None that I know of. If he is going to set it really low it might look ok. A small tire might get lost in it though.
I thought about using my spare parts and building a truck with no running boards and the bottom of the doors setting about six inches off the ground. The big truck fenders would work for that as I would trim the bottom six inches off them. This is one of my buddy's trucks and if you look close you can see that he opened up the wheel wells on it. The truck was done in the late 70's when tilt noses were a hot lick. It's slowly going back together with a serious pro street look. The bed is a 3/4 ton bed that was cut off at the second post and the front panel moved back. Last edited by mr48chev; 08-08-2012 at 12:10 AM. |
