How to take off rear tire and rim

)My problem is that I like them all. lifted, slammed, stock, skinnys whith wide whites, advance design, task force trucks c10s k10s, dumped on 22,s jacked up on 38's squarebodys new ones. If I had the coin Id have three or four copies of each generation built in different styles. But Im broke so I come here and look all you guys killer homebuilt stuff.

Now im in the same situation with my truck. Ive got 275/60/15 on the rear end with 6 lug rallys ( do yall still love me even if im a hillbilly with rallys? ) the rear axle is flipped on top of the leafs, and ill be hosed if i get a flat. Im not even sure it could be pulled onto a standard trailer it woul probably require a roll back. I dont see any way to change it on the side of the road without one of those jacks the off-road guys use. Maybe ill roll with one of those in the bed. HAHA.

I talked to a friend today and he suggested four small, discrete screw jacks to lift the box/fenders in the event of an incident (flat). I think he's onto something. I'm thinking weld-in nuts with a set of screw jacks (1/2" or 5/8") in a canvas bag with a speed brace.

A small bottle jack between the spring and frame will usually push the axle down far enough to get the tire off. With the 255-60-15's on the back of the 48 I've had to do that with the springs I have. On those trucks with the huge tires or my bud's pro street 48 with the big Mickey Thompsons on it a tilt bed seems to be the prudent way to do it.

I've seen a lot of 55 Chevy guys with wide tires have to let the air out of the tire to get it on or off the rear of car. We even had to do that in the tire store when we put wide tires and rims on those with the rear axle hanging down because the car was on a hoist.
