Sweet! Congrats on getting the swap done. Do you have the stock tune in? How well does it move the truck?

Thank you!
I'm ready to get back to working on it as soon as my vacation ends. Although I'm not ready for my vacation to end.

Re: 80 Scottsdale build

The brakes, are those Wilwoods's D52 bolt-on replacements and slotted rotors, or one of their big brake kits, or something else?

Gauges look good!

Yes just the stock replacement calipers from wilwood and rotors are from rockauto.

Re: 80 Scottsdale build

Did they make much difference and would you buy the calipers again?

I believe it brakes better but now I want to convert the rear. Yes I would buy again even if it was just for the appearance. Looks much nicer than stock.

Re: 80 Scottsdale build

If DD is going to be making gauges that nice, they need to also make matching climate control units too. I've done retro-fit digital swaps from mid 90's Roadmasters into Gbodies and the trucks wouldn't be too hard to do-if I can pull off swaps like that surely DD can make all new units/kits to keep the interior components up to date looking.

Yeah you would think so, huh? Or even the kits from vintage air should be offered in more modern controllers for direct fit.

Re: 80 Scottsdale build

I have most of what I need to do it in my 86....basically a PWM module controls blower motor speed (and the stock motor is retained) and the main blend door PWM module reads off the ambient air temp sensor mounted in the front of the core support generally. If you select recirc (auto recirc if you select 60F) on the AC panel it pulls in cabin air only. I had a 1995 Buick Roadmaster wagon as a daily driver and the motorized climate control system was great!! The stepper motors install in place of the cable operated doors and PWM motors read off temp sensors to determine airflow. I've always wanted to do a swap in a truck....may just spend a weekend doing mine....we'll see-there never seems to be enough time lol

Re: 80 Scottsdale build

you know, uknowme, im not one for lowered trucks but I must say that this one looks phenomenal . I was on a parts buying binge a few weeks ago and I bought a chevy shortbed shell running and driving and my son ( the pain in the ass he is) wants to build up this one too .. I am probably going to regret showing him your thread but we may adopt some of your mods... and they do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Love the orange/white color. Truck looks really good!

I've been thinking about trying the 77 grille, silver headlight bucket, clear marker combo on mine for a while.
