Switching axles on a 61 k-10

My cousin just bought a 61 K-10 4x4 and wants to install a late model open knuckle front axle and add power brakes, has anyone done this on this year of truck.

I have a 67 k-10 that had the closed knuckle
and changed the axles from a 77 Blazer my
neighbor had. It has the disc brakes. Only thing
we had to do was to change the location of the
shock mounts and i think the spring pads since
the two are in a little different location. Just
cut and weld them were you need them.
