Headlight Wiring harness
Bought a 66 suburban 3 wks ago and I started checking all the little things that wrong this it. The headlight werent working and noticed that they wire was disconnected. But I cannt find the other end that coming from the fire wal. Where does the headlight wiring harness pass through the fire wall? Maybe mine is completely missing.

Re: Headlight Wiring harness
Well, if the suburban is anything like the C10, on my 65 it passes through the firewall on the upper drivers side. There are 2 harnesses that are at this location, the one for the signal lights on the hood, and the other has the engine wires and also the headlight wires. They are Green and Orange i believe, one for high and one for low. Cant remember which is which offhand though.

Re: Headlight Wiring harness
Thanks. Those wires are there. Looks like they must plug in some wheres along the engine wires. This is the end that connects to the headlight. Looking for the other end..lol

Re: Headlight Wiring harness
Ah i gotcha, i think you are looking for that plug and forward to the headlights. On the Radiator support, close to where the internal regulator is for the alternator, there is supposed to be another plug that looks like that, that runs to the headlights. I recently put in a relay harness for my headlights, so i cut the plug off and used butt connectors with thicker wire to run from my high and low beam relays to the headlights. So if yours is still there, it should be on the radiator support right around the external regulator. If im understanding you wrong, and your looking for the plug that goes from the radiator support backwards towards the firewall, it should be wrapped together with the rest of the engine harness. the wires will be orange and green. hope that helps.

Re: Headlight Wiring harness
Thanks Concretekiller. Found the wires. The previous owner must have swapped the headlight wires with the horn wires. Eveything working now.. Thanks
