Trim rings/center caps

I'm currently trying to restore my truck rally wheels and was wondering what everyone is using for replacements would like eom style rings. Vendors? Also best way to restore center caps. My caps have black paint on the from the po. Can the paint be removed without damaging the finish underneath. I've heard the caps are all chrome which is the look I'm looking for. I also saw that summit racing have the Bowtie decal for the center of the caps but is listed for camaro. They look the same as mine will they work? One last question, I've also seen late model style center caps on rally's what year are these and how are they being held on. Feel free to post pictures thx.

Re: Trim rings/center caps

Can't help with the trim ring, other than to tell you I bought mine at a Swap Meet -- probably don't have $20 in the whole set. Not perfect, but pretty darn good.

Regarding the center caps, I found a set on Craig's list that looked pretty ragged. But I invested a couple hours and a spraybomb of silver paint and I think I have a nice set. Again, not perfect, but pretty darn good.

Finally, get with PT's 70 CST. He has the bowtie center cap emblems as well as the zinc coated (?) screws to attach the center caps to the wheels.

Good luck!

Re: Trim rings/center caps

sorry Daaaanz67, I had to sneek arouknd my fathers old trucks in the field and swap out my not so nice rings for the random nice rings he had. I had to look at 3 different trucks to find 4 good rings, dont tell him. I think swap meets, junk yards and lmc are your best bets.
