Re: c20 or k20 engine stands

Are you looking to use the stud-style motor mounts from the '67 or the clamshell-style mounts from the '79? If you're looking to use the original style mounts, I don't believe that there is a difference between the C10 and the C20 mount stands. They should be the same. If you decide to use the mount stands from the '79 Suburban, you will have to make a 1/4" spacer for the top of the framerail to take up the gap, and you will have to trim the edge of the frame to clear the motor mount stand. I did a similar job on my '64 using a '79 Suburban as a donor. I wanted the clamshell mounts, so I made a spacer and trimmed the edge of the frame rail. The clamshell is a better mount, and even if the mount ever breaks, it's still captured. Plus the downlegs of the mount stands will bolt right up to your '79 crossmember.

I still have my original C20 stud-style engine mount stands and also have a pair of spare 1/4" spacers if you need any help on this.

Re: c20 or k20 engine stands

I am using the clam style mounts and at the time was wondering if the k20 tower was the same as the c20 (just do to known parts availability). I Have since stumbled upon a pair of the c20 mount towers out of a 76 c20.

Re: c20 or k20 engine stands

Thanks for the help i just went trough your build thread and it answers several of my questions but i would like two know did the spacers on the steering box affect your alignment at all because i'm trying to avoid doing to many mods to the frame just in case I lose my mind someday and ditch the 454 and go back to the 250 I6
