Re: Bye Bye 'Ol Blue
saw this when you first posted and just couldn't muster up the words to express myself...i still really can't, lol....hate to see you let that beautiful truck go...I get too attached to things like this, but I know many of you guys can wheel 'em & deal 'em with no issues....I don't plan to get rid of mine unless financially forced to...and it breaks my heart to see this guy "screwed" with you, as I know you intended well for it...I hope it ends up in good hands still, as this truck deserves the best life possible...wishing you luck with the new build though

Re: Bye Bye 'Ol Blue
Nope - there was no reason given, he simply said on the day deposit was due "I'll be straight up with you, I'm just not going to pay, sorry"... Long story about how he felt really bad and all. Yada yada.
I was kinda stunned. I waited the additional requisite 4 days that ebay requires and then opened an unpaid item case. Apparently ebay sends some rather effective "you should pay for what you won the bid on" emails because he re-established contact, paypal'ed the deposit immediately, and then mailed the rest in cashier's check and I ensured it cleared. Was a very strange transaction and highlighted why I don't like doing "big" business on ebay (although, in the end, the ebay process worked very well) - it just makes me nervous. Homeboy aint Gordon Gecko and don't like putting money (or a truck) at risk. If the transaction had gone down up front like it eventually did after the unpaid item case was opened, it would have been perfect. But, oh well. I can't complain, it all ended up ok - but it could have been much less painless. And like I siad, he paid for it, so he can do whatever he wants. Apparently, what he wants is to give it immediately to a dealer and flip it. Don't know their relationship details, don't care, but I will be honest, the turnaround in ownership like that kinda bugs me. I guess there is no requirement for a buyer to disclose his intentions, so what can I say. Wish it had gone to a good home and not become a piece of meat. But maybe a good truck guy will buy it. |
