Looking For Polyurethane Bushings for Trailing Arms
Hi guys,
I need to order some polyurethane bushings for a '70 GMC. It has the coil spring suspension with trailing arms. I was looking on Summit Racing this morning, and found some red Prothane Rear "Control Arm" bushings, Part No. 7-301. A photo is attached showing the bushings. I guess my question before I put in my order is are these rear "control arm" bushings the same thing as rear "trailing arm" bushings? They look the same, but I was wondering if anyone has used them in the past. Thanks for any advice. NoNeck

Re: Looking For Polyurethane Bushings for Trailing Arms
Same thing, just different terminology. I used Energy Suspension bushings on mine, which look the same as the Prothanes that are in your picture. This style of bushing is easy to install. You leave the original "shells" in the trailing arms and just remove the factory rubber inserts. Grease the poly bushings with the special grease and slide 'em in.

Re: Looking For Polyurethane Bushings for Trailing Arms
Does anyone have any sources for the outer metal sleeve. It was removed when the factory bushing was removed a while back. Any ideas for a replacement?

Re: Looking For Polyurethane Bushings for Trailing Arms
Just finished up installing my track arm and trailing arm bushings from Pro-Performance.Got them all for under $30 shipped to my mailbox, can not belive the differance in ride.Took all of about 2 hrs,I went to our shop and used a lift or it might of taken a day, track arm was a breeze.I left the rearend in the truck but all in all it was not to bad.The bushings came with a new inner sleeve I just drilled around the old sleeve about half dozen times then smacked it with a hammer fell right out .

Re: Looking For Polyurethane Bushings for Trailing Arms
You have to order a factory style set to get the steel pieces, and just change the guts.
