I have a 68 swb fleetside that I am going to do a 4/6 drop on. The biggest thing is I am going to be using a 5 lug rearend from a 72 that I bought as a donor. Will this effect the backspacing I need to get in any way?
I think the normal offset is 4.5 in front and 5.25 in the back but I just wanted to make sure the back would be ok since I was using a 72 rearend, Zack |

Re: Question about wheels and tires....
The 72 rear end will make a difference in backspace, because it is wider. You can still however get a nice wheel lip with the wider rear end. The backspace depends on the width of the wheel you are wanting to go with.
What diameter wheels are you wanting to go with? Are you looking for a staggered setup, with wider wheels in the back? Are you running big brakes at all? Did you also have a particular wheel design in mind? The one piece wheels are set with a certain backspace, but they are available one that fit great. If looking at a billet wheel, then it can be custom built to your specs, which we are definitely familiar with and can help you out. Travis |
