CPP big brake kit
Finished my installation of CPP big brake kit today so I figured Id post some pics and give my quick review.
I see this as a cheaper way to get into a big brake kit. Uses factory calipers from a late model chevy truck up front and 90s lincoln continental calipers in the rear with C5 style rotors(13" in front and 12" in rear). It also uses their modular spindle that narrows track width(as compared to 73-87 disc brakes) which allows for more wheel to fender clearance or a deeper rim. Installation is very straight forward. I only needed hand tools and everything fit together nicely. Instructions for the rear kit were a bit universal but easy to understand with only a little bit of guess work required. Both kits came with all the hardware needed including hoses, hard line kit for the rear, parking brake cables and misc. clips. Havent driven it yet(olds wheels wont fit over new brakes) but cant foresee any problems so for the price I satisfied. Hers the pics. |

Re: CPP big brake kit
Would you mind posting up a price breakdown on what you had to buy to complete the kit?

Re: CPP big brake kit
Just had to buy 2 things, front kit was $1100(includes spindles) and rear kit was $700. Both kits were complete and other than having to buy new brakes hoses for the front and some brake line adapter for the rear(Im running AN lines, so most people wouldn't need these)the kits were very complete. I didn't opt for the powder coated calipers so I ended up painting mine w/ caliper paint, I wasn't sure that powder coat would hold up under then temps that brake calipers see.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

Re: CPP big brake kit
intresting way to run the exhaust... are the mufflers going to be hidden under the body? Will you be able to see them when standing on the side of the truck?

Re: CPP big brake kit
Oldspowered67C10,
I would like to order this kit too but I am concerned whether or not my Boss 338 wheels will fit this front hub as they fit very tight on the stock rotor. Would you mind taking some measurements for me? I would like to know the diameter of the hub at the base where the rotor sits, the diameter of the hub at the end where the dust cap goes on, the length of the hub from rotor(installed) to the end where the dust cap goes on, and lastly the length of the lug nut studs with rotor installed. Thanks in advance for your help,

Re: CPP big brake kit
I like the look of the CPP kit, but can't justify the price when you can go Corvette for cheaper (and lighter).
