I would really like to do a worn out patina paint job. Any pics of home made patina paint jobs.

Re: home made patina pics
I'm interested as well. I bought a truck with all original paint, except a newly painted drivers side fender. I would love to make it look more like the rest of the truck.

Re: home made patina pics
I think that would be pretty tough to do with paint. Thats natural patina.

Re: home made patina pics
I think I read somewhere that the rat rod guys keep the rusty look from spreading with beeswax. In fact, I think it was mixed with something but I can't remember what.

Re: home made patina pics
Or you just spray it with clear. Then u can wash it and touch it without messing it up.

Re: home made patina pics
I plan on doing a mild job to my truck, something like member gringoloco did with his. I basically just want a flat looking blue with a touch of the black primer showing through in spots.

Lmao. Thanks. Yeah, I noticed that damn diaper in the pic too. Cracks me up. I guess if you're looking for hidden meaning, it could be that riding in the truck is bliss, but being outside of it is like being a diaper in the gutter lol Posted via Mobile Device |

Posted via Mobile Device[/QUOTE] I was thinking more along the lines of how it must feel to be sitting on the side of the road in a ford, broke down, ashamed and wondering how mad your friends are going to be when you ask them to drag you and your ford home again, when suddenly a Chevy drives by, blasting you with a cold wind on an already chilly day. It has to feel like being a discarded frozen diaper full of human waste. Posted via Mobile Device

I want mine to be simple. Swap it from a step to a fleet (already have a bed) then "patina it" with a flat looking blue. I'm going to do the bed first while it's off the truck, so if it looks terrible I can redo it before it goes on the truck (either just go flat blue or with a real paint job...) I want to put "sales parts service" on the bedsides and maybe "Taylors Chevrolet" on the door, or something similar with some kind of graphic... AND add the 67/68 CST trim. At least, that's my plan.
