who all has shipped doors
I was wondering how much an original GM door would weigh crated up. Also who would be the best to ship with. Even general info would be great. I know the weight of the crate would vary somewhat. Is it best to crate them both together and ship truck freight or can you do them separate and use UPS or greyhound. Any Info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Norris |

I shipped two doors once using ABF freight...cost $250 using my own crate...it would have cost much more had ABF crate them up. You might be able to ship them individually using Greyhound for cheaper.
Also, if you use a shipping company, make sure the seller delivers them to the company and make sure you pick them up from the terminal...MUCH cheaper than having them picked up and delivered to your door. -Jeff |

Check FED EX
Have you checked with FED EX Ground. I was just there the other day and a fella sent some pickup doors to Florida using them. Wrapped in sturdy cardboard, 1 door in each box. Use some 1/2" thin sheets of syrofoam for padding, light wieght and seems to get the job done for protection. I just sent a tailgate out that way.
