I picked up this 1972 bench seat from our local on-line classifieds site. Can anyone tell if this an original seat? I'm thinking the vinyl is original but not sure about the cloth inserts. The little brown tags attached to the frame say "GM Bench Seat". I have a new black and white houndstooth seat cover from Truckseats to go on here.

that is an original seat, correct for your truck. The inserts are not correct. Your new seat cover will fit.

After looking at the seat a lttle closer I think I may try to put the new cover on myself.

I wish you moderators wouldn't jump the gun so fast.How do you know that if and when I decide to sell it I wouldn't post it on the board and let Brian know its there and he has first dibs.

He isn't "jumping the gun". He is just giving a reminder, that's all. It's not like you are in trouble or anything
