Another New Guy!

Hey guys, been ghosting these threads for a little over a week now, since then Ive brought home my 1966 C10. A little back round on it... Back on March 3rd 1966 the truck was bought out of Tuscaloosa, Alabama to haul cattle too and from Pensacola, Fl. The truck stayed on and around that farm doing chores till around 5 months ago when some one i knew bought it and drove it from Pensacola to Melbourne, Fl. during those 5 months the truck sat with almost zip done to it ( besides loosing the brakes) and then i got a call a couple of weeks ago telling me that the owner was reenlisting to the navy and he couldn't keep it anymore. Now the truck is mine in Miami, Fl. and i would like to restore it (little by little when i find some extra cash now and again) One thing i learned is you guys love pics, so here are some...

The hood, cab corners, door bottoms, bed/tailgate and Roof ( outer skin, inner skin is fine) have some rust.

The interior looks great (except for the holes in the corners) and the big thing that worries me the most right now after reading some of the threads is the roof...

Yeah, it looks like that roof will need some attention. It might be easiest to replace the entire outer roof panel, once the under structure is solid.

Thanks for the Welcomes! Since im new at this, when you say the under structure is solid, do you mean no rust holes and leaks on the roof skin or the entire cab? The inside of the cab is fine no bubbles or leaks in any part of the roof( should probly test this better with a hose...) what i was thinking from looking at this site is either 1. drilling out all the welds, taking off the outer skin to see what the inside looks like ( but then what do i do with the roof edge with so must rust damage?) or 2. wait to find a cab nearish to me and buy it/ find a roof i can cut off and use. There is bubbling in one spot on the uper corner driver side of the windshield but other than the roof the upper part of the cab looks good. ( at least to me haha)

Haha. I was reading the other day when some one posted about working in the cold during the winter... When I first got the truck and was looking it over it was about 89 degrees, way too hot for winter... Even in Miami!!! I'll deal with the heat all summer, you guys are awsome working in freezing temps on your trucks man.

We have heaters in our barns and garages! A must have in Michigan! A house close to me has heated driveway so he doesn't have to shovel snow!
