1969 era Toshiba 8-track
A friend at work, who totaled out his '65 Fairlane in March of '69, ran across his old Toshiba 8-track that he pulled out of the car. So, he asked if I wanted it. Sure! So, now I need to find a bracket and it will be period-correct for my truck. Since I still have some 8-tracks, as well as a recorder and some blanks....it might be a good thing to have.

Retro Baby
![]() Just go ahead and bench test that stereo before you spend time and effort to install. Those rubber bands inside may be bad and not work. I've got an AM/FM 8-Track on my 1980 Honda CB900 Custom. The tapes sound a little wrabbly, but old schoolers dig the coolness of the period correct piece. That Pioneer was also the same model I had in my 1974 Malibu Classic. |

I had an 8 track player in my first car as well. Then I got a cassette adapter for it... I might even still have that adapter layin' around somewhere.

I have 1 of those 8 track players my dad had it in his 72 nova ss. I bought a universal bracket for it at radio shack. Still works I'm going to put it in my 72 truck

Not difficult to make a bracket out of a piece of sheet aluminum or steel if you can't find a readymade one.

There's a metal fab shop in my sons' neighborhood. I'm betting that they can make one w/o difficulty. $$ is the question, but I'm sure getting an answer is free. They make stuff using water jets and such.
