turbo headers

My question is i'm looking at using some forward facing turbo headers for my ls motor. Since i can't use a ac compressor in the stock location, i'm looking at buying the dirty dingo ac bracket that moves it up towards the top of the engine on the passenger side... But if i do this i think the header will not work on that side of the engine.. Any ideas that you guys have would be greatly appreciated....

Re: turbo headers

I know of a header that is for passenger side maybe the company can make you one that will work for driver side. I am in that market for some turbo headers. I have only found 2.

Re: turbo headers

I am using forward facing truck manifolds with the driver side shortened to clear the brake booster/master. With the truck acc I also have room for the ac compressor on the bottom. I'm not running ac but I did mount it to check for clearance, incase plans changed.

Re: turbo headers

If you run 1 flipped and reversed truck manifold, and 1 just flipped, couldn't you fit the passenger side DOWN and UNDER (between the relocated A/C ), and have it crossover to your drivers side run?

Re: turbo headers

You might find some more help on performancetrucks.net. They have a fairly large Forced Induction section that might be of help. Most of the trucks are newer Chevy trucks and SUV's that would run into the same problem you have.

Re: turbo headers

I guess i'll use the ugly truck manifolds and have them coated. The passengerside will be ok with the truck manifold. The driverside will hit the ps pump. But it looks like i can cut the flange off at a angle and weld a vband on and it should clear...

Re: turbo headers

I've got a set of LS2 GTO manifolds that have V-band flanges welded onto them that I might be willing to part with. I used them successfully on my turbo setup. Re-doing my setup, and starting from scratch.

Terrible photo, but you get the point.
