new guy with some questions on carb to tbi conversion
I have a 1982 c10 305 with a carb and a complete 92 silverado tb1 350 with 3 questions I havent seen answers to on other conversion threads. This truck is my daily driver and cant do down for an extended period of time so here are the thoughts that concern me before I begin.
the 92 350 has the harness and all so with that being said...... # 1) the alternator connections on the serpintine setup are different than the older style....how is that conversion accomplished? # 2) the tranny in the 92 has an electronic speedo connection, how is a conversion to the cable driven system done? # 3)...there is a 88 c30(square body) +UTILITY BED with tpi and the pick a part that has the tanks in it...will these tanks with internal fuel pumps fit in the smaller body, and.... the tank switch ,is it the same size...sorry the pick a part is an hour drive and I didnt crawl under it to compare thanks in advance for any assistance Ray btw. sorry if any of these questions sound stupid or repetitive |

the alternator is not a big deal im pulling it from memory cause I converted over my 82 fire bird to serpentine I relive you just need to combine the 2 wires to run off the one wire. its been about 10 years I don't own the car anymore but it was simple. the trans depends on what you want. if your converting to the newer transmission I assume its a 700 you can get a older mechanical speeds sender. the tank I will let someone else chime im id run an external pump with a return but im lazy like that
