Re: street scraper kit

Ive used a couple of their kits and bags. Never had a problem with them. I used a towing four link kit very mice install. Ive used their bags, springs and spindles. I did have a problem with a compressor and they took care off it.

aim/chassistech/airbaggit.com/ratical tops/and a few other names i cant think of are all the same place.

but 70% of thier stuff is decent.
Some of their parts aren’t up to par. Are you trying to bag your truck? Dumb question I know, but just wondering if that is the goal, or something else? Our trucks are very easy to bag for cheap. Depends on what your tryin to do in the end.

Re: street scraper kit

I sometimes wonder out of all the people who vehemently and relentlesly bash Aim/Chassistech/Airbaggit do so because they've actually *had* a bad experience, or because their Brother's Friend's Second Cousin's Uncle heard from their favorite bro on the interwebz that they had junk parts.

I'm not saying they haven't had quality control issues and I'm not defending them, per se, but out of the four guys I *know* who have used their products, I haven't heard any complaints yet.

I have no opinion because I have no personal experience with them. If you're just regurgitating the same 'ol tripe because you want to look informed to a bunch of strangers on the internet, then you're a tool.

Disclaimer: not pointing a finger at any one specific person, so no need to get the panties in a preemptive knot, mkay. I'm just saying...

Re: street scraper kit

I rather spend 300 bucks more and get a better built kit like http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.co...ear-73-87-1900 Or he has a cheaper weld in kit if you want that.Or a fully weld in kit like http://www.scottshotrods.com/4link.asp I trust both companies both are vendors on here and both will stand behind their products fully.I'm not gonna bash airbagit but they are like the flea market knock off brands it might look the part but its not.And things like this do you really trust your life on their welds i don't.

Re: street scraper kit

Just like anything that costs big bucks. You do your research- read reviews-make an in formed decision. If all the reviews are bad-no purchase will be made. If all the reviews are good it is likely I will try one out. Are the reviews biased? Who knows. Search this site for spindle issues. Some just let go. I have never seen a stock spindle break but have seen aftermarkets break.(NOT MINE). It could be from the added stress of larger than stock wheels and tires.

Yes I personally have used their parts for over 20 years, their suicide door hinges are dirt cheap for example, with roll pans and cowl hoods in stock. I will never bash the company, (the owner pictured here with me at 2011 SEMA), but just like autozone having crappy sbc starters, or wallmart and sears not giving military discounts, every place has their goods and bads; but that is not a valid reason to bash the entire company.
Sorry for getting off topic/hijacking the thread, the OP asked a question, I replied with my opinions.

Re: street scraper kit

Im supposed to get rid of my spindles? I had chassis tech spindles from godfather customs ( shows how old they are) on my last truck and i have them on my new truck. No worrys yet. I honestly think people hear problems and they make them worse than they heard. If a company has been in business for over 20 years apparently they have done something right.

Really you should look up thier spindles airbagit aim chassis tech. ALL of them break there has been several threads on this. So yes I would implore you to change them out for your and others safety. I'm not bashing them but when it comes to spindles AIM, airbagit, chassis tech, bullitt or any other name they give these imported castings HAVE a PROVEN bad reputation for breaking. My friends spindles broke on a on ramp. Same brand as those above so remember if you crash your truck and kill someone or yourselves was it worth the $50 savings? I'm not going to argue with anybody over this bit when it comes to suspension you all should either do it right or leave it alone

Re: street scraper kit

I looked after you started saying they are junk but only found a handful. But to each their own. You are gonna have people out there that say everything is junk. Ford, GM and Chrysler all have problems with their stuff and everyone calls them junk as well.

Factory spindles have gone on for 30+ years and not broke. I beat the piss out of my stocks and are just great. Beat the piss out of my djm and fine. My friend turns at 5mph and boom broke. The guy in my link 13yrs boom broke
Sure maybe the can be hit and miss but is that worth the risk? Is it worth shotty rep? Your life? If an automaker had even just three failures its a recall and lawsuit. Aftermarket once they make something hold no responsibility or liability. They can and will get away with defective **** and cover thier ass with "defective or bad cast"

Re: street scraper kit

This thread would be a lot cleaner if people only posted their experience. The link only leads to more back and fourth. I bought kp components because I like the look of a 6 link, but if you buy please please do a full review (pros, cons, and other thoughts) with pictures. I once ask a similar question and got the "baby mama's cousin's school bus driver" experience.

So having proof and stories of mass failures of other people's experience doesn't qualify as knowlage? Tell me does Swiss cheese make a good frame? Cause I'm pretty sure a bolt on monstrosity that airbagit sells there is begging for a cracked frame. It's ok I'm not an expert, I just have common sense and reasoning as many other people who learned the lessons from thier brothers uncles cousins and dogs

Re: street scraper kit

I'm not trying to pick apart that kit but looking at it hard i see cheap hemi joints that will chatter and wear out fast,A lack of any inter frame supports or bracing around the parts where the bolt in notch meets the trucks frame. And with bags on the axle it should really have tapered sleeved bags for a smoother ride.

I can personally attest to their product being inferior quality, and their customer service being horrible. I got burned twice in one large transaction, then later had a shop use their crap on my truck even though I told them not to. After two of their crap bags blew while still sitting in the shop, they finally bought quality parts and they never failed.

Yes, I can personally say the suck.
