Realistic value on project
I've always built modern 4x4 vehicles as my projects but I'm at the point where I really want to do a nice older truck. My friends dad might be finally putting his 1970 cst shortbox up for sale but I cant decide what its worth. I see them on ebay with huge variations in prices so I'm just kinda lookin for a ball park idea here. Like i said 1970 cst shortbox 2wd, not been redone, has cab corners and rockers cut out with new parts in boxes but not installed, has a diff 350, I dont know the options that well as I havnt seen it in many years. Last time I saw it driven was over 15yrs ago, its been sitting in storage for ever. But it wasnt a totally rusted out heep by any means. I dont think it runs and is in a lot of pieces but generally everything is there i'm told. He doesnt wanna budge off 3500 if he sells it. Is that fair? Seems high to me just curious. thanks

Re: Realistic value on project
Well it sounds more like a 1200$ truck to me, pictures would help though.

Re: Realistic value on project
$3500 sounds pretty steep from the little you said about it. I just got a 67 3/4 ton that is all original that needed way less work than that sounds for $1600.

Re: Realistic value on project
Given the description the asking price seems high. Especially if the cab corners and rockers have been removed but not replaced yet. There could be all kinds of alignment issues in that area. Sounds like a basketcase. Up here I wouldn't give more than $1500-$2000 based on the condition of the rest of the truck. Pics would help though

Re: Realistic value on project
I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for it. Plenty of those out there. He'll be keeping this truck IMHO......lol
