Re: i have fallen in love with a craigslist find
Take a roller set of tires and wheels with you, tell him to keep his $2000 wheels and offer him a grand. Leaves you enough room to put a motor in it.

Those wheels were awesome in the 90s.

Get her running and remove the running boards and add some rallies and you are set.

Re: i have fallen in love with a craigslist find
Im with the rest of these guys take the gamble... Take your trailer, a buddy, and cash in hand and talk him down... But take a wrench and see if the motor will turn freely maybe something, maybe not, but it will be a memorable weekend for sure!

Re: i have fallen in love with a craigslist find
I think buying a truck should be the way it is when you decide you've found the right girl.
There's little "Oh, Boy!" factor in this one. I'd never make a case for NOT taking a road trip. But, just don't make this truck yours before you get the warm and fuzzies. Right now, my money would be on, "that's somebody else's problem." And, I've found that a transaction with a seller that has the B.S. lines... ...like the one about how many people are wanting his crap... usually ends up in a transaction that sucks. If for no other reason that there's little satisfaction in dealing with an a$$%@le... for any reason. Regardless of the deal. Not saying this guy is one. But it sure didn't start out smelling like roses, did it? And, Bro...you have the little woman's nod. Use is on a deal that makes EVERYBODY in the deal happy. Having said that, if you go, enjoy the road trip. If you go AND buy the truck, best of luck and enjoy it, too. I'd stay home and look for a truck that's being sold by one of us....
