Front shocks on a lowered '84
I recently lowered the front end of my truck with drop springs. I bought special shocks for that amount of drop. After a week or so I noticed the truck wasn't riding well and was bouncing too much. I switched out the front shocks with new stock shocks and the truck rides a whole lot better. But at the top of the shock it does not sit correctly on the top stud. The top of the shock sits at an angle on the stud rather than being level with the stud. Is this normal for a dropped truck? What can I do to fix this problem? I will try to post a pic later on.

Re: Front shocks on a lowered '84
Mine are pretty off at the top too. I've got a 6" drop up front and none of the drop shocks would fit. Literally, fully compressed (or at least as much as I could get them) they were too long. I finally had to measure the distance between mounts and find a comparable car shock. The ride has been fine. Since then I don't buy into paying more for drop shocks. Just find the right application and make it work.
On the other hand, if the angle is off enough to concern you, relocate the mount. Doing so is on my "one of these days" project list.
