Re: How many '60 and '61 "Ugly Snout" trucks survive?
Here's my 60 GMC 305 V6. It doesn't run, but as far as I can tell it is nearly all original.
I'm hopefully pulling the engine and trans in the near future to rebuild. |

I can't speak for the rest of the truck but the "Ugly Snout" still lives on;

Re: How many '60 and '61 "Ugly Snout" trucks survive?
My 65 I put the 61 hood and grill on, 64 roof cap and passenger door, and 66 front fenders and bed.
With the hood I used the 65 hinges and the pin for the 66 (had to adjust) with the grill 4 of the holes lined up and had to drill for the other two.

Re: How many '60 and '61 "Ugly Snout" trucks survive?
I paid $150 for mine and its a pos. corners are gone and need some structural work. They are hard to come by so I bought it anyways. Thought it would make my ugly panel truck even better.

Re: How many '60 and '61 "Ugly Snout" trucks survive?
Mine is a '61 with a '61 hood. I made the grille insert. I've owned it over 30 years. I think the style of the '60 and '61 hoods grows on you over time. The '64 - '66 trucks are boring by comparison.

I also think that thankfully taste differs in the world, so the later trucks have a beauty and appeal of their own. I am always amazed and actually quite envious of guys who keep cars/trucks for 10/20/30 years.

Re: How many '60 and '61 "Ugly Snout" trucks survive?
Did you get your truck from Surfdaddy on here? I sold him a hood a few years ago for his truck, and I'm pretty sure that is the same truck in the first pic. Just curious.

Re: How many '60 and '61 "Ugly Snout" trucks survive?
Here,s my 61. Came off my uncles farm in Nebraska. I guess that makes me the 2nd owner. Original wheels, not sure if original tires, hubcaps being painted this winter. 235, 4 speed granny. He splurged for the turn signals, spotlight and radio!
