Dale Earnhardt Edition in 87?
I came across this truck and said it was a dealer installed package. Does that sound right? I hope I put up the correct link here.
http://www.autotempest.com/results/?...any&saleby=any This didn't work but this does take you to the site. I think it is on page two.

Re: Dale Earnhardt Edition in 87?
The pictures are low quality. What does the bed sticker say on it? The tail lights are aftermarket. The wheels are aftermarket and common in those years. Hood and bed cover are nice. I can't see a passenger side tank door.
If it was a SWB truck, someone would be all over it. A shot of the engine bay would be nice. The exterior looks to be in great condition. |

Re: Dale Earnhardt Edition in 87?
I am going to say "no"...this was done after 1987, because Dale Earnhardt did not start racing in a black car until 1988. He was still racing the yellow/blue wrangler car in 1987.. Someone has restored the outside of this truck.. I doubt it was dealer done.

Re: Dale Earnhardt Edition in 87?
I thought that was a little fishy when I first read it. I emailed the seller asking for documentation and told them I didn't think this was what it is advertised as. Pretty much putting out false information with the intent of proffiting off of it.

Dealer installed package is different than factory option. I don't know what leeway dealers have in stuff like this, but would imagine anything they can do to market a truck is legit.
I would definitely want some documentation on it.

Re: Dale Earnhardt Edition in 87?
That is true but I think on this particular truck its not the real deal. Truck is an 87 and Earnhardt didn't start driving those colors until 88. Sure they wouldn't do this to a used truck after the fact. I did get an email from the seller that said if I had any questions then to call him.

Re: Dale Earnhardt Edition in 87?
The emblem on the tailgate is a standard "Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet" dealer plate widely available on the net or from DE Chevrolet in Newton, NC.
IMO this is a truck an individual painted up and decorated.
