Re: Factory Diesel Stepside
One of my co-workers has been driving her 81 or 82 blazer every day for years. The thing just keeps running. Fuel mileage is great.

Have a friend or family member go give her 100 bucks and have it in writing and both of them sign it.

Re: Factory Diesel Stepside
The 6.2s,especially an '82,are reliable and cheap to run. The injection pumps last a long time and can be replaced for around $300-400,about same as a carb. They aren't flawless. Some have had serious problems and some run forever with no obvious reason. When a head gasket goes it can harm the engine quick. The key is stop running as soon as starts using water/bubbles in radiator/white smoke shows and fix it. They cost about 2x to rebuilt as a SBC. But,SBCs are about the cheapest V8 to do.

Re: Factory Diesel Stepside
I just wanted to up date yall on the truck, I finally got to look at it yesterday and wound up not buying it. There was more wrong with it than the adds said. It was last registered in 07 and someone started to pull the motor out so it has been left open for a long time. Also the cab has rust n the rockers cab corner and around the windshield. The tailgate and bed where in good shape. The price is down to $500 and im sure it is worth that in parts but im going on deployment soon and dont want to mess with parting it out.

Re: Factory Diesel Stepside
Sorry it didn't work out. If you find a 6.2, advance the pump a smidge and roll hard. Jay
