Fleetside short beds or step sides?

What is your preference. I have always been a fool for a short bed but prefer fleetsides. Also I might have a chance to buy a nice step side for $300. Thinking about buying it to trade for a fleet side. So which do you like.

Re: Fleetside short beds or step sides?

My first truck was a 68 GMC long bed stepside, looked a bit goofy ,but I think the shortbeds are too short stepside or not,I must vote for the long styleside.Back on the farm it was the longer and wider the better, whatever could haul the most square bales was the best.

stepsides look much better i think, but their useless as a box. i put my 2 mutts in the back of mine & it's full. adventures galore bringing home anything 8 feet & longer from the lumber yard, & towing my old 21 ft cobra was like the tail wagging the dog

Never much cared for the step sides versus the fleet side trucks.

Re: Fleetside short beds or step sides?

I think stepsides look nice, but short beds are pretty much useless hauling stuff and you get less floor space in a stepside. If your going for looks id say stepside; going for use ability get a fleet.

Re: Fleetside short beds or step sides?

If your building a slammed on the ground truck with big diameter wheels, Fleetside. If building a Hotrod or muscle truck, Stepside. Most people prefer fleets, but the steps are getting harder to find and you rarely see them on the road. I have one of each..
