80-84 wiring help/timing

I need some help I have an 80 k10 and just put on a 1984 silverado cab and front end I remover the hei dist so I wouldn't smash it when I took the cab off and put it back in the timing is on but still no start its getting fuel and spark and has compression flames shoot out of the carb and exhaust my question is there ne way to wire an after market ignition to bc I want to redo all the wiring and lose what I don't need at this point all suggestions are helpful
