Low Mileage 66 K10

My neighbor and I partnered on this at an auction today.

History....
Owner bought it new.
Has always been stored in the barn.
Odometer broke at 26,000 miles.
Has always stayed on the ranch and only used when 4x4 was needed.
This truck is very clean. It drives like a dream. No rattles.
I think it probably has less than 50,000 miles on it.

I took these pictures with it dirty just to document the original condition.

We are going to clean it up tomorrow and I will take some better pictures if you guys are interested.

John

Great find! The color fits what it was being used for, and it spent its entire life in the southwest. Now which one of you gets it?

I like everything about that, including the narrow tall knobbys. I would buy one of those in a heartbeat to sit next to the house for the once in a decade heavy snowfall we get here, like the 14" it snowed a couple weeks ago.

Very nice survivor find. The engine paint looks very well preserved on that 292 (green paint is the give away). Does it have the "SPID" on inner glove box door? It will show all the optional equipment ordered when new.Maybe add the truck to the saddle paint thread?

Safe to say everybody IS interested, so let's have those pics, please.
Probably too late for a warning on using harsh degreasers. Some can act as mild paint removers too! So, if I may advise: cool engine, MILD soap or degreaser, warm water, lower pressure, longer/multiple clean times. Lotsa dirt and grime, but if done in a hurry you risk washing away a lot of paint and color with the gunk. Good luck!

Drive it! It is a stout bumper.

I have a feeling my buddy is going to end up with it. He drove a 63 in high school and he's got the bug....bad!

I'd almost trade the pickup for a good 14" wet snow. We've only had about 20 inches of dry snow this year.

I wish I could find another one the same color to put on. I'll have to think about the deal!

We steamed cleaned the enging. The paint is in really good shape. The High Torque 292 sticker is mostly still there. We were careful and didnt use any degreaser...just hot water. There is no spid on the lid. I'll look for the paint thread.

Re: Low Mileage 66 K10

Before we gave it a good detailing, we decided to take some pictures around a couple of old barns and houses. It kind of gives it an authentic look or period correct picture.

Hope you enjoy.

Good news, a well preserved engine paint color is a great reference for accurate restorations. I have a feeling the Alpine Green ( aka Detroit Diesel Green) fans are sweating a little on this one.
