62 C10 283/TH350 ANGLE for X-MBR

I'm at the point where I need to get the 62 C10's chassis ready for the V8 / automatic swap.

I had sort of planned on bolting the 283 up with a 3 speed bell housing and setting everything up based on the bell mounts - to mark the frame for side motor mount stands (with 1" spacers), as well as set angle on driveline for transmission crossmember that I will be making for the TH350 shortshaft that's going in.

Understanding the factory standard bell mount crossmember has to go for the new set up, I figured this would be the "easiest" way to document correct driveline placement and angle before the removal of the factory crossmember.

Then fabricate a suitable automatic transmission cross member working off the 3 factory punched "cresent" array of holes in the frame, and retain the factory angle for motor and transmission.

I only want to do this once and hope to get it right.

Anything I missed? Suggestions? Advice welcomed!

I still run factory bellhousing but aligned the new motor in that manor. I used 70-72 small block mounts. Droped right in. See my cardomain page under lvphotos for install. The T5 is held up with boxed tube.

Use an angle guage on the intake manifold, record angle, then remove BH crossmember.
