Re: How much weight ok to carry in the back

I load similar weight in my panel truck. it has stock springs with a 1.5" blocks. It drops some but holds it ok. I`m not a big fan of air shocks, I prefer air bags in the springs, i use those in my Sub for when i tow my trailer.

Re: How much weight ok to carry in the back

Are they heavy duty springs? I've had about that in my bed and noticed a drop, but the heavy duty springs seem to be so stiff, it was about 2 inches. I also only drove about 25 min really slow. Had an engine, tranny, and hoist. Plus cribbage and accessories.

Re: How much weight ok to carry in the back

a short 50mile trip you could carry twice that if you know how to drive carefull and anticapate you stops well in advance

i drove from kansas to long island ny with 2model t coupe bodies and 3flathead ford engines // pretty much bottomed out the whole time but got everything home in one trip

Re: How much weight ok to carry in the back

Had roughly 1200lbs of aluminum parts in my C10 bed on a pallet. Only drove around 20miles with it, slowly but it worked out well. Put most of the weight towards the front of the bed.

It'll handle that 950# load with no problems. You probably already know, but I'll mention anyway.... load it as far forward in the bed as possible.
