Rear Differential Seal
I just cleaned up my rear and and am changing the gasket because its leaking. I bought the new gasket from lmc can i just use that thin gasket by itselft or do i still need some liquid gasket please let me know asap! Wanna get it on the road for the night!

I always use sealer on them.

If you're talking about the rear cover gasket, I always use the FelPro RDS-13391 for the truck 12 bolt. As long as your cover is good and straight and the surface on the housing is not damaged, you should not need any sealer. I only use sealer on gaskets as a last resort, or just a tiny bit if I need to hold the gasket in place until installed.

I prefer RTV and gasket .
Just this year I began experimenting w/ RTV and no gasket in a few applications; I like RTV only thus far. OEM gasket installed dry on perfect flange can seal for decades but is a hassle to clean off down the road. |
