fuel gauge issues
OK this is what I got going on now. I install Autometer gauges and I have a behind the seat fuel tank and sending unit. Vehicle has been completely rewired as mentioned in a previous thread. Anyway everything is hooked up the way it should the fuel tank reads full when there is only 5 gallons in the tank. Any suggestions

Re: fuel gauge issues
think I may have found my issue. I notice that my fuel sending unit is a 30 ohm sender. Think I need a 90 ohm sender

Re: fuel gauge issues
Both the fuel gauge and the fuel sender have to be of the same ohms range. You will need to know what the ohms range of the Autometer gauge is.

Re: fuel gauge issues
autometer likes 90ohm sender. You can probably find a 90 ohm sender to fit our tank, or you can swap gauges.

Re: fuel gauge issues
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 63. THERE IS NO AFTERMARKT SENDING UNIT THAT WILL MATCH THE ANGLE OF THE STOCK UNIT. A MEMBER ON THIS SITE POSTED A PICTURE OF HOW HE MODIFIED THE STOCK ONE WITH THE SENDING UNIT THAT MATCHED HIS GUAGE. I DID THAT AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY. YOU REMOVE THE STOCK SENDING UNIT FROM THE PICKUP TUBE AND SPOT WELD THE ONE THAT MATCHES THE GUAGE ONTO IT. ACTUALLY ITS PRETTY EASY.
