best way to lower
Ok, I'm thinking of lowering my truck 2" in front and 3" or 4" in the back. Do I need to buy dropped spindles or can I just use shorter springs? My truck is a 72 longbed 350/th350 disc in the front drum in the rear. Also coil springs on all 4 corners.

Re: best way to lower
Springs will do you just fine, but might not get you the drop you might be expecting due to the inevitable sag from 40 year old springs. Option two (assuming you've got the cash flow) with the spindles would guarantee the 2.5" drop and keep the geometry and super sweet ride we've grown to love with these pickups! Oh, and option three (and best effectiveness per cost ratio) would be to cut a coil off the front springs.

If you like the way it rides, do 2.5" spindles up front. For the rear, I'd go 1" blocks w/some 3" springs.

Re: best way to lower
Hey thanks for the info guys, The cash flow is low, so cutting a coil sounds ok for now. I figure if I dont like it I can save up and get drop spindles later and shorter springs. It rides pretty good - well actually it needs new shocks but I'm working on getting it running great first.
