Re: 3 Speed Floor Shifter info needed

I put a heavy duty Muncie 3-speed (originally from a 69 GTO according to the casting numbers) into my 64 C10. I used the Hurst Master Shift shifter and installation kits. It was pricey, I think I spent around $300 on the shifter stuff, but it shifts real nice and is a pleasure to drive.

I have no idea what part numbers I used though, it's been a few years.

Ok, great. The Muncie your talking about was option RPO MC1, it replaced the Borg warner t-16 HD 3 that I'm installing which was RPO M13. If you wanted a manual shift big block car 68 (chevelle) and I believe 67-68 (Camaro), this is what you got unless you ordered the optional 4 speed munice.
Thanks for the positive input on the master shift, it helps solidify my want to install one.

You won't be disappointed with the Mastershift. It is essentially the same shifter as the old SyncroLok from the 1960's. And it is fundamentally the same as the 4 speed Competition Plus shifter, minus one lever. The last Mastershift I installed was in a 1983 Chevy long bed six cylinder about 15 years ago. These don't get stuck like the Indy linkage because they are real shifters assembled inside a housing.

Re: 3 Speed Floor Shifter info needed

I have a factory correct chevelle shifter for the t-16, but it has the console style shifter arm. I will get a pic tonight of it. It bolts on from the top, not the side. I could probably make a shift arm work for it, but they are pretty rare, and surely a chevelle or Camaro guy is looking for one. I like the look of the Hurst, and I think its just time for a new shifter.
