need help with engine swap~~!!

i have a 1975 chevy c10 that came with a inline 6 250 im swapping to a 86 305 and i cant get the engine mount brackets to line up ti the engine mounts any ideas...this is driving me crazy

Welcome to the site. You need to change the perches. The perches relocate engine mounts for I6 engines. A 292 mounts the same as a V8 but a 250 does not. Find some perches from a V8 truck.

Check with www.lmctruck.com. They have a nice catalogue. It also lists parts by I6 and V8 engines. If you live in a warm to hot climate, install a V8 radiator too.
