Question - 1963 C10 MC Conversion
I've searched the threads regarding upgrading a single MC to Dual MC but have found conflicting information. I'm looking to get rid of my single master cylinder and upgrade to a dual master cylinder with booster. I'm looking to buy a new or rebuilt unit. Is there a year I can use that is a straight bolt on replacement? Also, I'm keeping the 4 drum set up for now.
Thanks |

Re: Question - 1963 C10 MC Conversion
Do you have an existing power brake booster? If not, are you planning on staying with non-power brakes?

Re: Question - 1963 C10 MC Conversion
See the Official John Lee Jr thread for how I split my 65 (67 C10/Impala dual non power master drum/drum)....
Same can be done for dual power, just contact CaptFab on here for the bracketry to mount the master/booster to the firewall. There is also a great thread in the FAQ on splitting front from rear and installing the dual master on your truck. Its easy, mostly tedious on a truck that's not torn down for easy access. |

Re: Question - 1963 C10 MC Conversion
The best booster and master combo for the drum/drum brake system is the '67-'70 booster and master. Those will bolt up to your firewall without drilling holes, when using one of my booster bracket.

Yep, thats the one, its where I learned how to do it for Ol John Lee just before he got smushed! Good I had sturdy modern style brakes that day, else I coulda been smushed too!
