Re: Post those wheels gallery
Thanks! They are new to me tires and wheels. For some reason they put 265 45 on the front and 295 40's on the rear. I'm lowering it more to 5 7. So will need to get rid of the fronts and go with some 40's. Love the way the rears fill in, no spacers front or rear. Had to grind the front rotors. Tires almost new except the right rear is bald

Re: Post those wheels gallery
Hey special-K, did you paint those or have them powder coated? Were most factory wheels black in the back, white in the front? The original set I have are like that but need to be refinished.

Re: Post those wheels gallery
These are Wheel Vintiques and they come satin black powder coat. My powder coat guy of the last 40 years got out of it and a new guy (probably worked for him) is leasing the place and bought the business. He wanted what I am used to paying for sandblast & powder coat to just scuff them and coat. Money's tight and if I powder coat I want it on fresh blasted steel. So, I scuffed and painted.
I think the factory wheels were only painted on the face, IIRC. I know that's true for rallyes and any later steel wheels. Nothing lke that all sides powder coat. It was so much easier to just hit one side. I figure when I restore the truck I'll get the blast & coat for a fresh look to match the truck EDIT: Tires showed up yesterday. Man I love me some new tire! We're getting a rainy day tomorrow, which means no work for me. I'll be heading up to my buddy's shop to mount them up. Antique truck club show Saturday!

Thanks! Sadly I don't know what drop it has. I purchased the truck about three weeks ago and have only done some basic maintenance and added the wheels and tires. It does have drop spindles up front and flipped leafs in the rear, but those were added two owners ago. Back spacing is standard for those sizes from American Racing - should be 5.74 in the rear and 4.50 in the front.

Re: Post those wheels gallery
Del4fun - Dude, I have been looking for wheels for my 85 for a month now. I want something different but, it seems as if different costs more than I have in my truck.
When I had my 67, I was able to pick up a set of used Bonspeed wheels locally (check out my 67) but, for some reason the 5x5 bolt pattern on my 85 limits the possibilities unless I order a new set and break the bank. I like the US Mags option and the solid wheels but, everyone has them. Raceline has some sick wheels but, they are way out of my budget. As the saying goes, you have to pay to play.... I will be rolling my stock rallys for a long while. ![]()

Re: Post those wheels gallery
As they say, you get what you pay for. Cheap wheels are cheap for a reason.

I just get tired of seeing the same wheels on these trucks... I love the smoothies but, they are pretty played out now... so are the BOSS wheels - there are like 5 companies that make a wheel that looks exactly the same and that is what most people run because its affordable. I saw that someone on here put 20x10 JEEP SRT8 replicas on his truck.. it looked sick!
