Hoods!?

has anyone made a chevy hood into a GMC by swapping the front part?
if so can i get a link to it.

I have not, but I studied how it could be done....
you would need to bust all the spot welds on the seam, most are not in a spot where you could get a drill....
so I think what you would need to do is cut the gmc hood on the outside of the seam, that way you could access all the spot welds, then drill them all out , saving the gmc piece, then do just the opposite on the chevy hood, after that I think you could probably just bolt the pieces back together, rather than having to weld it...

this could be done to convert chev/gmc 62-66 hoods including the short lcf hoods., this also could be done in the same way to convert 60-61 chev/gmc hoods

That IS a clean one. I've been so tempted to grab it up and make the conversion on mine. Love those GMC turn signals! Probably worth your time Gil to just buy Tony's.
