sound deadener poll
so what are you guys using for sound deadener?I'm not really digging the idea of putting down some black tarry substance on my newly painted floor. I'm just concerned in the future I may pull it up again. I recently found some stuff that has aluminum on both sides of it. does anybody have any info on what you used?

Re: sound deadener poll
I have used second-skin damplifier on a few vehicles and been very happy with it. It is buytl based and has no asphalt/tar in it. You can remove it later with vinegar. They also sell non-adhesive stuff(luxury liner) that works pretty good.
The plan once I finish fixing the floors in my truck is to lay down two layers of second skin on the floor & firewall, with a layer of luxury liner under the rubber mat. |

Re: sound deadener poll
I've used this stuff before to good effect... Glue down with spray adhesive and seal edges with foil tape.

Re: sound deadener poll
Two layers of Peel and Seal from Lowes works great (butyl based though), and I like Lizzard Skin too.

Re: sound deadener poll
Lizard Skin, kinda expensive, and DEi makes a spray on Boom Mat. The problem with these is, there maybe almost worse than the tar/asphalt stick on sound deadeners.
Anyone else come up with something cool?

Re: sound deadener poll
I'll be using FatMat Rattle Trap Xtreme. I should have mine down in the coming weeks and then I'll report back. I know a couple of guys that have used it on the 67-72 years and been very happy with it.
