Re: 5 lug to 6 lug swap.... new universal?

I just completed this swap. I used the '67 brake lines, and the '67 u-joint swapped just fine. I went to taller gears,(Better M.P.G.'s) and disc brakes, including power steering, and I can tell you it's a whole new truck. Down right fun to drive now. I changed spindles up front, and replaced all the ball joints. (Required) I also used the '72 steering assembly instead of the '67. (It needs the '72 tie rod ends) I also swapped steering box and the sway bar and added new sway bushings. Major difference! I cut one coil out of the front springs and it lowered it just right, (for my taste.) The rearend is an easy swap. You'll find that the '67 brake hose is longer than the '72, as I did, so using the '67 lines was the way to go. I'll replace them in time with new, but probably stay '67. The front brake lines were another matter. I replaced them on both sides, as the booster and m/c were different, and the prop valve required separate lines for each side of the front. The rear line went right onto the prop valve with a minor re-bend, and an adapter from the 1/8" pipe line to the 1/4" pipe hole. New shoes in back with new wheel cylinders, new pads in front with the rotors turned and new calipers, bleed the brakes and boom! Excellent stopping power.
I just noticed your header says 5 lug to 6, and I did the opposite, but I hope this still helps you.
