Gas caps
I'm in the middle of cleaning and patching a new cab for my 64 gmc shortbed. On my old cab i filled in the gas filler cause i moved the gas tank under the bed. I'm just wondering how many of you have just put the filler neck back in and a cap back on just for looks?

Re: Gas caps
ive seen it done and think its cool if your other fillneck is hidden. keeps the nostalgic look in my opinion. but do whats going to make you happy...its your build

Re: Gas caps
Mine is still in the original place, with a rear mounted tank.

Re: Gas caps
Yeah that was my thinking. My filler is inside the bed in the rear corner. So its not out in the open.

THATS WHAT WE DID, LEFT THE FILLER NECK ONLY AND THE CHROME LOCKING CAP IN PLACE........MADE IT LOOK STOCK........BUT WITHOUT THE IN THE CAP TANK.....KIETH A FRIEND WHO IS A REAL JOKER SUGGESTED WE PUT A NON LOCKING GAS CAP ON IT, EXTEND THE METAL TUBE, PUT A SPRING IN THE TUBE AND FILL IT WITH PING PONG BALLS. I FIGURED THEY WOULD JUST GET MAD AND TEAR UP MY TRUCK SO WE DID NOT DO IT. http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...Ntdr&lb=1&s=X3 |
