John Lee's Rattling Tail Gate Fix, PCV Valve Grommets!

I installed Tail Gate derattlers (extra PCV grommets that I bought...) on the tale gate ears...now when ya close it its got a rubber bushing to stop all the noise and snug enough the chains don't jump out of the ears when ya hit a bump....add some rubber hose on the chains and its all pretty durn quite back there.

Thanks for sharing. I just noticed those on my tailgate the other day. I put them on so many years ago I forgot I had done that too.

John Lee's becoming more refined. Getting rid of the lil rattles so we can listen to the Weber growl at highway speed. Soon we'll be getting rid of the Peanut Whine so we can have a conversation at any speed. And we don't have a radio in the truck, so, no way to turn up the volume to fix mosta them lil irritating noises!

One good way to here the motor growl is you take the muffler and mount it under the cab and pull all the sound deadener! Did that on mine, plus ended the exhaust tips a few inches from the mufflers to exhaust ends right under the cab. Cheapest way to do some my friend!!! Then you WON'T here ANY rattling when it's screaming at 4,000 rpm!!

Re: John Lee's Rattling Tail Gate Fix, PCV Valve Grommets!

Cool. Pretty soon though, John Lee will likely never see 4000 again. Soon as that T5 goes in his top speed will be up to the top end of my comfort zone but his whine and growl will be at the low end.

Might have to get a tape loop of the growls and whine for the stereo so we can maintain better control of conversation time with GoodWife on long trips. Just gotta figure out how to hook a tape player to the tach so the noise comes in whereever I set the lil orange pointer.....1500 rpm with Goodwife, 5000 rpm without! HA!
