Door glass seal??

So we are surprising my father inlaw with a 51 5 window. I found it for my wife and she funded the project as me and a friend got it road worthy. She had us do the interior back to stock except the seat covering. I installed new glass rubber and felt/channel. They sent 2 pieces that staple to the inner window panel and 2 wedge looking pieces of rubber that slides in a track that looks like it sweeps the glass as it rolls down. But there really isnt anything that would keep the water from running down into the door. Am I missing something here? I know some of the older models without the wing windows have a stainless trim that goes around the window and has the same felt stuff as on the inside but what does everybody use on the outside besides the fore mentioned rubber strip that sits basically insdide the door? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated on this one! Thanks
