Re: 5.3 in a 87 Sierra

Welcome from So Arizona!

I am in the process of doing a 2004 5.3 in a 78 SWB, so if you have any questions that have not been answered I will be glad to share what I have learned here on this helpful site.

Dirty Dingo was my choice for mounts A/C and motor .
The drive shaft and shift linkage on the 4L60E are in the exact location with the adjustable motor mounts, which saved some time and cost of doing another drive shaft.

You already have the right fuel tank which I had to upgrade to a 87 and I used a 97 chevy fuel pump attached to the sender.

The good folks here on this forum gave me those hints, so far all has been a nut and bolt operation.
Good Luck with your swap.

Re: 5.3 in a 87 Sierra

I thought the ep241 pump was the right one for the swap.

Re: 5.3 in a 87 Sierra

Haven't really had time to work on my truck this week but I did manage to get out in the shop and chop the old wiring harness out and now all I gotta do is paint a little bit and drop the LS motor in there and start wiring and plumbing
